Out of hours?

We are not a 24-hour hospital. Outside our opening hours, go to your nearest emergency veterinary hospital and let us know the next morning so we can follow up the case.

Come immediately if your pet…

  • Struggles to breathe, coughs non-stop, or has bluish or very pale gums.
  • Retches without bringing anything up and has a swollen, hard abdomen (possible gastric torsion).
  • Has been hit by a car, has fallen or has been in a fight, even if it seems fine.
  • Is having seizures or has had more than one in 24 hours.
  • Cannot urinate, especially in the case of a male cat.
  • Has eaten chocolate, xylitol, grapes, rat poison, a human anti-inflammatory or any medication.
  • Is bleeding and the bleeding does not stop after five minutes of pressure.
  • Is pregnant and has been contracting for more than two hours without delivering.
  • Shows heatstroke signs: extreme panting, staggering or collapse after exercise or a car journey.

What to do on your way

  • Stay calm — your pet reads your tension and becomes more agitated.
  • If it may be injured and in pain, wrap it in a towel and avoid a reflex bite.
  • Do not give food, water or human medication unless we tell you to over the phone.
  • Bring the packaging of anything it has swallowed, if you know what it was.
  • If you have recent reports or blood work from another clinic, bring them or send them by WhatsApp.
